While you stroll through the 50 rooms of the palace, you will witness a good collection of Goyas, five Stradivarius violins, and 215 ornate clocks. As you take the main stairway you will be led to the halberdiers' rooms and to the throne room that has crimson-velvet wall coverings. Walk Westwards across the plaza and visit the Armería Real which houses a shiny collection of weapons and armour.

If you happen to be in Madrid on a Sunday then don't miss out on visiting the El Rastro. This open-air flea market is held every Sunday and on public holidays between Calle Embajadores and the Ronda de Toledo. Shop from the numerous market stalls on the main street and you will find an amazing variety of products new as well as used here. Try taking a look at the antique shops here and stroll through the market and feel the buzz of the city.
