The best time to visit Iceland depends on what you like to see & do. There is mild weather and long daylight hours during summer (June to August) - perfect for hiking! While winter (October to March) is ideal for experiencing the Northern Lights and winter landscapes.

What is the weather like in Iceland?

The name isn’t misleading! Summers here are cool, with temperatures ranging from 10-15°C (50-59°F). And winters are chilly, with temperatures hovering around 0°C (32°F). Either way, be prepared for rain!

When can you see the Northern Lights in Iceland?

From late September to early April (especially during the darkest winter months - December to February) offer the best chances to see the Northern Lights in Iceland. Clear skies and minimal light pollution are super important too!
