Hike in Zion National Park
Zion is known for its magnificent sunsets and stargazing spots but if anything, it’s even prettier during the daytime(!) The canyon is lined with red, white and pink rock formations. You’ll find a hanging garden, waterfalls and emerald pools too – with a bundle of different hike and bike trails to help you take them all in.

Don’t worry about missing any marvels either because with us, you’ll hike with an expert local guide. Oh, and if you love birdwatching, you’re in luck. Zion is home to 291 of ’em.
Explore Bryce Canyon National Park
No national park trip would be complete without a visit to Bryce. You’ll hike among the hoodoos (towering rock formations with red, orange and white spires – basically, it’s a miracle these huge structures aren’t made by people) checking out lots of lovely viewpoints as you go.

Bryce is home to an abundance of animal species such as deer, mountain lions, golden eagles and rattlesnakes too. Oh, and you should see those sunsets.
Visit Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone is the world’s first ever national park (and still one of the greatest too.), so it’s got to be on your national park itinerary Home to grizzlies, wolves, buffalo, plus volcanoes, glaciers (IKR?), waterfalls and seismic canyons, there’s almost too much to take in here… Except, when you travel with Contiki, there’ll be a trusty local guide on hand to help you navigate and make sure you check all the highlights off your list.

The GC might be the most famous national park in the world, and we’ve found a way to make the experience even grander. What is the best way to visit national parks?

What month is best to visit national parks in the U.S.?

Summer (Jun-Aug) might be the most popular time, but that doesn’t always mean it’s the best time. The shoulder season (Mar-May or Sep-Nov) is a great time to visit the US national parks because there are fewer tourists, it’s easier to spot the wildlife and the weather is more suited to hiking (without spoiling the scenery.)

What should I pack for a national park trip?

That depends on what activities you’re planning to do and what time of year you plan to visit. But if you do embark on a US national park trip, you’ll defo be glad you brought your:
