When is the best time to visit Eastern Europe?

Spring (April to June) and fall (September to November) are the sweet spots - perfect weather, fewer tourists (and lower prices too!). Summer’s great for festivals, and beautiful natural scenery. And winter? Expect freezing temps, but also lots of skiing!

What is the weather like in Eastern Europe?

Summers are warm & dry (18 to 28 °C or 65° - 82° F), winters are freezing (almost always below 0°C in most places) and spring and fall are the goldilocks seasons. Eastern Europe’s weather loves surprises. So, you’ve got to wing it most times.

How many days should I spend in Eastern Europe?

It depends on where you wanna go, and what you wanna see. Usually, around 2 weeks are enough if you wanna tick off the major cities & towns like Prague, Budapest & Vienna. But a deep dive into every country will easily take you more than that.

What is the tipping etiquette in Eastern Europe?

Generally, tipping 10-15% is appreciated, but check the bill, coz sometimes it’s included.

Is tap water safe to drink in Eastern Europe?

In most places, yes. Stick to bottled water in rural areas just to be safe. But in big cities like Prague or Budapest, tap water is good to go.

Is internet access good in Eastern Europe?

Yup. Most major cities have fast, reliable Wi-Fi, and many cafés and public spaces offer free internet. You might hit slower speeds in rural areas. (It’s a good reason to unplug...)
