It depends on where you are going! Many of the European countries are so different, the culture, the people, as well as the price level. Some places sell beers (in a bar) for 1-2 AUD, while others take 15-17 AUD (e.g. Norway).
The word “please” can be translated into “vær så snill”, but the Norwegians are not known to be the most polite people. On behalf of all Norwegians I’m sorry that some tourists see us are unfriendly and polite, we are only shy!! Just talk to us after a few drinks :)
Sweden and Norway are similar. You have to be 20 to get alcohol above 20% and you can only buy it at “Vinmonopolet”. You have to be 18 to buy beer and wine etc. In Denmark it’s 15..
I’m Scandinavian and I can see a lot of mistakes here….Some of the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian is mixed up….(e.g. Excuse me = undskyld meg (Norwegian), “orsak meg” is more Swedish). Cheers = Skål Closed = stengt (not “sluttet”, that word mean something else).
