My Recent Comments

  1. The restaurants in Nice weren’t the cheapest places we ate on our trip. I did enjoy wandering around the downtown area where it’s mostly people walking, restaurants, and shops. Most of the people were tourists, so be prepared to meet lots of people from Italy, Spain, etc.

  2. You’ll want to bring a blanket or towel to lay on the rocks (if you don’t have a chair). The beach is nice to relax on and if you’re not used to it, be prepare to walk slowly around the beach. The locals seem to be able to run across it as if it were sand, but my California-beach sand feet were too scared to do much of that.

  3. The British Museum and Natural History Museum in London are really great and you can’t beat the prices… FREE!

  4. While visiting the Contiki offices in London last week, I also got to visit the Contiki Basement. People were hanging out and watching MTV while they waited for friends to arrive before trip departure.

  5. In the Lower East Side of New York City, you’ll find a little-known Venezuelan restuarant, which has the best Arepas that I’ve ever had named the Caracas Arepas Bar. It’s a great place to eat after wandering downtown all day by foot.

  6. While visiting London last year, I walked past this on the south side of the Thames and saw this place. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to do the tour and plan to go the next time that I visit LDN. :-)

  7. There is a great Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum across the street from Fisherman’s Wharf, which makes for a fun and educational time. There is also plenty of salt water taffy available and the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is only a few blocks away… should you be in the mood for good chocolate!

  8. Many ATMs in the USA also allow you to make withdrawals with your VISA, MasterCard, Discovery, and American Express credit cards. Most ATMs will include a surcharge, which I’ve seen range anywhere from $1-$4 USD.
