1. My boyfriend and I are doing the Grand Southern in February 2010 and I have been saving since the start of this month. I would rather go without a few things throughout the year than get a $10,000.00 plus loan and be repaying it back to a bank plus interest. One thing you don’t want is constant debt when you come back from your trip away…

   Another good tip is buying a money jar and putting any change you get into it, and when you transfer money into a savings account (whether you put money away weekly, fortnightly, monthly etc), open your money jar and pop it into the savings account, even if it’s not much, you can be earning interest of it!
