More About Me

I like to travel. In September I did the European Horizons tour. It was my first time going with Contiki. I had a really good time, I just regret that I didn't have longer... and getting sick. It's true there is a damn Contiki cough. I've been to several places in the US, New York City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Seattle. As well as trips within Canada too. My next trip will be to go to Nova Scotia, but I'd also like to travel to Asia, Australia, Europe again and Africa.

My Recent Comments

  1. The airline I’m flying with has a 15kg weight limit, for checked baggage. I’m going to do a lot of shuffling to try and only check one bag. If not I’ll check a small duffle bag and then put everything in one suitcase once I get to London… damn checked baggage restrictons.

  2. The thing I really loved about Las Vegas was that there was tons to do. My friends and I went down last year, and everyone said all we would do is gamble. But there was so many other things we wanted to see and do. In fact all I spent was $30 on gambling, for the whole 6 days I was there.

And good walking shoes are a must. And definitely try to go to a Cirque Du Soleil show. I saw O and it was incredible.

  3. I work at an airport and eating at the restaurants there can cost $10-20 a day or more… so I know if I start bringing my lunch to work I’ll have money save in no time. I’m also use the money I’m getting back from my income tax return to help pay for my trip.

  4. Jasper is a really great national park, you’ll definitely see some wildlife like big horn sheep and moose. If you want some thrills go white water rafting or take the tram. In the winter there’s skiinng which is supposed to be good, although I don’t ski. A trip to the Miette Hot Springs is also really nice. And apparently the local pizza parlour in town has some of the best pizza.

  5. Vancouver is a great city. I loved going to Stanley Park and checking out the Aquarium. Science World is a lot of fun too… I haven’t been there since I was a kid. There’s a ton to do in Vancouver, lot’s of great shopping too. And if you have time after your tour take a ferry over to Vancouver Island and spend a couple days checking out the island and BC’s capital city Victoria – The Butchart Gardens are really nice. Or if you rent a car drive across to the US border and visit Seattle, it’s only a couple hours away, and also has a lot to see and do.

  6. Even though Contiki doesn’t go to Seattle I would highly reccomend visiting this city. Especially if your tour ends in Vancouver, it’s only a couple hours drive on the I-5. Seattle is a very lovely and laidback city, and despite the rumours, it doesn’t rain 24/7. Of course you have to check out the view from the Space Needle, do a harbour cruise, see the aquarium, check out Pike Place, there’s just a ton to do in this city. If you’re an aviation enthusiast then check out The Museum Of Flight. A music lover will enjoy the EMP. If you go to http://www.citypass.com/city/seattle.html you can get a pass for several atrractions and save yourself some money. I loved Seattle and will definitely go back again.
