Where you stay is one of the main differences between touring styles offered by Contiki in Europe. A Budget trip is all about mixing it up, so get ready to stay in everything from hotels and cabins, to hostels and special stopovers. Accommodation is twin-share (maximum quad share) and the majority of accommodations have private bathroom facilities.

What’s a Special Stopover?

A Special Stopover is an accommodation managed by our crew and exclusive to Contiki travelers. They are unique, traditional places in fantastic locations; for example, a 16th century Chateau in France, a Swiss Chalet and an Austrian Gasthof. All of our special stopovers are decked out with bars, plasma TV’s, nightclubs, and internet access – everything you need and more! Read on for more information.

• The French Chateau
  It’s big. It’s grand. It’s ornate. And it’s oh so French. Our very own 16th century Chateau de Cruix overlooks the vineyards of the famous Beaujolais region, where you can picnic, chill out or cool off in the pool. Exclusive to Contiki travelers and recently upgraded.

• The Swiss Chalet
  Stay in our very own Swiss Chalet, nestled in cozy comfort in a glacial valley at the foot of the 4158m high Jungfrau Mountain, right in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Exclusive to Contiki travelers.

• The Austrian Gasthof
  The scenery’s so beautiful here it’ll leave you at a loss for words, but while you’re thinking of them, you’ll stay at our traditional Gasthof (guesthouse) in Hopfgarten. And if you’re thirsty after a hard day’s mountain biking, there’s a well-loved bar to come home to. Exclusive to Contiki travelers.

Contiki Villages
Contiki Villages are comprised of hard top cabins and have their own designated area within top European camp-sites. All cabins are comfortable, mainly twin-share, and have private facilities, including hot showers. The Contiki Villages have recently been upgraded and many of the cabins are brand new.

Hostels
The youth hostels we have chosen are some of the newest around and offer fantastic facilities, like Plus Prague Hostel in Barcelona and Wombats Hostel in Berlin.

Hotels
