Contiki’s got you great deals on lessons (private or group), ski and equipment hire, so all you need to bring is yourself – we can organize the rest!
Equipment Hire
Ski and Snowboard equipment hire is suitable for beginners and intermediates. There’s upgrade packages available if you want a premium model of ski/board and can be organized directly through the ski hire shop.
- Ski Lessons: 5 Days for 4 hours per day
These operate from Sunday to Thursday with 2 hours tuition in the morning and 2 hours tuition in the afternoon. All clients receive a certificate at the end of the course, which documents their achievement standard.
- Ski Lessons: 3 Days for 4 hours per day
These operate from Sunday to Tuesday with 2 hours tuition in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
- Snowboard Lessons: 5 Days for 2 hours per day
These operate from Sunday to Thursday.
- Snowboard Lessons: 3 Days for 2 hours per day
These usually operate from Sunday to Tuesday.
- Combined Ski/Snowboard Lessons
3 Days ski for 4 hours per day first, and then 3 Days snowboard for 2 hours per day. The ski lessons operate from Sunday to Tuesday and the snowboard from Wednesday to Friday.

Ski School
Contiki’s exclusive ski school operates from within our Gasthof. Registered under Austrian Ski School Association, ‘Ski Alpine Skischule’ offers expert instructors – all fully qualified. The ski school will usually provide 1 English-speaking instructor for a group of no more than 12 people. With perseverance, all beginners will make it up to the top of Hohe Salve by the end of their holiday. To avoid confusion, beginners are those who have never skied before. Everyone else will be intermediate or advanced.
If you don’t organize hire or lessons at time of booking your tour
If you haven’t organised lessons or hire equipment when at the time you book, you can purchase a lift pass, hire equipment and book ski lessons when you arrive in Hopfgarten through the Contiki team, at the following approximate costs.
Please note all prices given are approximate (based on the 2008/09 season). It is possible to extend your lessons once in Hopfgarten, but only as an addition to pre-booked lesson packages. These are called ‘extensions’ and prices are available from the Contiki asthof staff.

Please note - Please bring your own gloves, as they can’t be hired in the village. It is also advisable to bring a hat, sunglasses and/or goggles and sunscreen. Prices shown are approximate and may be subject to change.
