The US is sports crazy. New Zealanders have their rugby, the Canadians have ice hockey, the Europeans have football, Australians just generally love any sport, but when it comes to countries that are fanatical about their sports, few can go past the USA.
America is home to what is unquestionably the world’s most famous (not to mention richest and highest quality) Gridiron football, professional basketball, baseball and ice hockey leagues in the world.
Visiting a US sporting event is a must for any sports fanatic or person who just wants to sample a slice of US culture. Sitting in the stands at Red Sox game in Fenway Park, catching a Lakers game, cheering the Dallas Cowboys on or an event at Madison Square Garden is just the tip of the iceberg of sporting experiences you can be a part of in the US.
You have loads of free time to catch an event during a US Contiki tour while the start and end of your tour are also great times to catch a game.
Check the official league sites for schedules to see who’s playing while you’re on tour or to plan your tour around an event.
