Surprisingly, it is generally difficult to change foreign currency cash and traveller’s cheques in the USA.

Travellers cheques in US$ however are very widely accepted. If you do choose to use traveller’s cheques it is strongly recommended that you choose cheques in US$ in $20 and $50 denominations.

US$ Traveller’s cheques are accepted as cash in many US retail stores and US$ travelers cheques are also widely accepted in Canada.

Make a note of your travellers cheque numbers, leave a copy at home and carry a copy separate from your cheques in case of loss or theft.
