Tjapukai Aboriginal dance

When you are in a different country, it is important to learn about the indigenous culture of the country you are in. This is why Contiki includes a visit to the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Center (official site) in Cairns. This is where you will get to talk to, interact with and learn from the local aboriginals. While you are there you will learn how to throw a boomerang and spear, learn about bush tucker and watch or even take part in some traditional dancing. There is also a great theatre where you can learn about the Dreamtime stories and history of the Indigenous people of Australia.
