The Louvre in is arguably the most famous museum in the world, it is also home to perhaps the most famous painting in the world – Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

Located on the banks of the Seine River in Paris, it is also the second largest museum in the world (next to The Hermitage in St Petersburg, Russia) and also houses the Winged Victory, the Venus De Milo, and the Madonna of the Rocks.

You could spend literally weeks, if not months checking out everything the Louvre has to offer. Some people whiz through just checking out Mona and a few of the other super-famous sights along the way while others spend half a day or more taking in this most famous of Paris’ museums.

  1. If you’re TM doesnt tell you, make sure you ask for the alternate entrace into the Louvre, it saves TONS of time! You almost feel bad for all the people who wait hours in line! but dont worry, its totally legit!

  2. While all the tourists are crowding around the Mona Lisa, you can stay in the adjacent hall and find Leonardo’s “Virgin of the Rocks” ... which is a much more interesting painting (IMHO)

If there happens to be an attractive art fan looking at the same painting, walk up and say: “Leonardos use of chiaroscuro in this piece is quite sublime”. Then nod knowingly at whatever they reply back.
