Pakbeng

Close to the Golden Triangle on the Laos side of the border, the village of Pakbeng very much sums up the lifestyle and culture of the country – life is very laid back.

Situated on the banks of the Mekong River, for hundreds of years the village has been a popular stop for people travelling along the river but like the rest of the country, development has never really taken place.

Pakbeng is very much an overnight stop with access to the Mekong River being the big attraction.
