Olympic Stadium - Montreal

The Olympic Stadium and surrounding venues in Montreal were built for the 1976 Summer Olympics. The stadium’s tower was completed a little later, in 1988 or 12 years after the Olympics. Budgeting was a little off; in fact, the games were 1200% over budget and were finally paid off 30 years later in 2006. Montreal is one of Canada’s two Olympic Cities along with Vancouver.

The Olympic Stadium is a little bit far off downtown, but definitely worth a visit!

Vancouver for the 2010 winter olympics, but Calgary also hosted the 1988 winter olympics too !!!

Recent Tips
For a great view of the city (especially at night) go to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris. It also offers a great vantage point for viewing the water show at the Bellagio.
A tip for people looking for a decent coffee shop.. if you don't already know about it, you will because most Contiki travellers find out about it - its The Grasshopper. Ask a local and they should be able to tell you where to find it.
This is awesome - you have to do it - so much information about the city - it really has an amazing history.
