Newport is a great example of a quaint, but historic New England city. It is situated right on the Atlantic Ocean, and it certainly has the feel of a place at home on the sea. Not only can you find lavish mansions dating back over 100 years, but you can also view the church where John and Jackie Kennedy were married!

The White Horse Tavern claims to be the oldest bar in the United States, and with plenty of sailboats in Newport’s harbour, one can easily envision the days when the city played host to the America’s Cup; the world yachting championship.

Shoppers will also find something to do with a good mix of fashion and souvenirs stores lining the brick and cobblestone streets.

Having taken in the sites, there are an equal number of great choices of restaurants for a good lunch.
