A shuttle service is available from the Airport Shuttle desk at New Orleans Airport. Tickets can be arranged at the Airport Shuttle desk for US$13 per person one way to the Prytania Park Hotel (official site).
A taxi to the Prytania Park Hotel costs roughly US$28 for up to two people and is roughly US$12 per person for 3 or more people. Taxis pick up on the lower level outside the baggage claim. There may be an additional charge for luggage as well as a US$1 fuel surcharge. It is customary to tip the driver US$1-2.

I was at the New Orleans International airport 2 weeks ago and the shuttle was $15 one way or $30 both ways. I was there during conference time so this might have been the main issue but it took us FOUR hours to get on a shuttle.
Breakdown as follows:
2 hours waiting to purchase the shuttle tickets
2 hours waiting outside for the actual shuttleNot sure if that is often the case but know that sometimes, it’s just much easier to grab a taxi!

The latest you should meet up with your tour is 9am on the morning of departure from New Orleans to Pensacola…if you arrive earlier or a day or two before, you’re more than welcome to join up with the group. There will be some information at the hotel when you arrive as to what your group is up to. You’ll also receive more information about how and when to meet up with your group with your Contiki tour documents.

If you are worried about pick pocketers go to www.pacsafe.com they have slash proof bags and purses as well as camera straps. Great for guys and gals. I used the citysafe 200 and its great.

Itter was one of the nicest town's I've ever been in, absolutely gorgeous. It's a sleepy town, but on Contiki you bring your own nightlife. This was one stop I wont forget.
