They don’t call this place ‘Sin City’ for nothing. The phrase ‘What goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas’ is a US staple and you will find people from all over the country (and the world) converging on the city for nothing other than a good time.

Although originally established by the mafia as a legal gambling haven after the scene was shut down in LA, Vegas has evolved into a land of clubs, bars, food, visual, and all you can eat buffet feasts. Vegas is also quickly gaining a reputation as one of the entertainment capitals of the world with showgirls, cabaret and stage shows as well as nightly performances by big name stars that include and has included Elton John, Celine Dion, Prince, Tom Jones, Wayne Newton and, The King himself, Elvis Presley.

Vegas is a truly a forever- changing and dynamic city and has gone through various incarnations since it’s establishment. Of late is has gone about shaking off it’s tacky veneer and has become a a true playground for adults.

Vegas has also broken away from its reputation as being solely about the casino and party scene. The city itself is one of the fastest growing regions in the US with people flocking to live in climate provided by the year-round desert heat. The city is also home to UNLV, a major university, and is a popular gateway to Arizona and the Grand Canyon.

Casinos

Even for people who don’t like to gamble the Las Vegas Casinos are the icons of the city and their size, style and opportunities are something to behold. From the actual buildings themselves to the food, shopping and entertainment that these ‘palaces’ provide, the Casinos of Las Vegas are what make the city what it is.

  1. The thing I really loved about Las Vegas was that there was tons to do. My friends and I went down last year, and everyone said all we would do is gamble. But there was so many other things we wanted to see and do. In fact all I spent was $30 on gambling, for the whole 6 days I was there.

And good walking shoes are a must. And definitely try to go to a Cirque Du Soleil show. I saw O and it was incredible.

  2. I recommend going to at least one of the Fountain Shows. It is amazing. Trying going to the top of the stratosphere also. You get amazing views of the whole strip. Try out the Big Shot as well. I went on it and it was some much fun. When you get to Freemont street go and buy one of the Huge Margaretas you cann get from just of the street. They are good in value and last for a little bit longer than a normal drink, and the great thing about them is you can take them everywhere. I wish I had kept my thing it came in.

  3. If you’re going to walk the strip pack some comfortable shoes. Vegas has, perhaps, the most deceptively long blocks in the world. That next casino may seem like it’s just around the corner…

  4. There is no dress code for the casinos in Las Vegas, but if you’re a guy and you want to hit the clubs, then running shoes won’t cut it. Pimp it out with shoes and a collared shirt!
