International Student Identification Card (ISIC)

It’s definitely worth getting an International Student Identification Card (ISIC) from STA or other student travel agents.
Some of the ticket sellers at sites and venues can are well within their rights to deny you the student price if you don’t have one. The ISIC only unquestionably accepted form of student identification.
An ISIC card is also invaluable when it comes to getting discounts on flights and other areas of travel.

If you have a high-def video camera, be sure to take it on a hike with you to the bottom of the canyon. HD is the only way to bring out the gorgeous contrast of blue sky and red rock that you'll want to show everyone at home.
MOMA is well worth a visit, and if you're short on cash, has free entry between 4pm-8pm on Friday nights. It does get very crowded though...
For ladies I would definitely recommend finding some slightly nicer than normal black flats... I bought some in Prague for super cheap and still wear them all the time!
