Hollywood is the original heart of the US movie making industry and is the home of the Academy Awards (the Oscars) and Mann’s Chinese Theatre.

Although many people have the idea that Hollywood is glitzy and glamorous, the main ‘Hollywood’ area (concentrated around the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Highland Ave) is a tourtisty as Niagara Falls, the Leaning Tower of Pisa or the Surfers Paradise.

Take a walk along Hollywood Blvd and check out the names of the stars in the pavement along the world-uber-famous Hollywood ‘walk of fame’. You can also see the hand and foot prints of some of Hollywood’s finest in concrete in front of Mann’s Chinese Theater. and of the stars and maybe do a little star spotting. Hollywood Boulevard is where you can find the ‘walk of fame’ with the names of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Very few people who travel to LA want to miss out on at least seeing the Hollywood sign and Contiki Tours visiting LA stop to see the sign and spend time sightseeing, shopping and perhaps doing a little star spotting in this, perhaps the most famous suburb in the world.
