No matter where you travel in Europe you will find local specialities and when it comes to food, the local favorite in Berlin is the curry wurst. ‘Currywurst’ is simply a sliced sausage with tomato and curry powder. Street stalls are all over the city and often go by such names a ‘Check Point Curry’. Like the rest of Germany many menus feature pork products with chicken, dumplings and loads of potatoes cooked in a variety of ways. The city also lends its name to the jelly-filled doughnut known throughout Germany as a ‘Berliner’.

Like the rest of Germany beer is an important part of the culture with the most widely available being Berliner Pilsner. You’re more like to find yourself sipping on a cocktail or dropping a shot or two if you head out to a bar or club.
