Events - Venice

The Venetian Carnival is one of the most well known events of the carnival season in Europe and ranks with Rio De Janero’s fame on the world stage. The dates vary every year depending on when Easter falls, but generally for two weeks in February and sometimes March the whole city comes alive with the centuries old tradition color, masks, music, mayhem, costumes and live performances. People travel from all over Europe to be part of this stunning event while visitors from further abroad are often charmed by the costumes, colors and music.
The city is also home to the Venice Film Festival and numerous sailing events and regattas throughout the year.

Some other suggestions, although not necessary - Travel pillow, chewing gum (especially for those who have ear problems during flight), book and/or ipod and one change of clothing (air lines do lose luggage occasionally)
I bought a high sierra duffel bag - it has a zip down panel on the back and you can pull out the back pack straps…I also have a laptop back pack…
My best advice is to step outside your comfort zone and make an effort to talk to EVERYONE on tour. I made friends from 6 continents on the one tour!!!
