Coffs Harbour, Surf Camp, Australia
Last Updated: Jun. 09, 2008

Surfing is a popular pastime for many Aussies and the Contiki groups get the chance to experience the surfing culture at our Coffs Harbour Surf Camp!
It’s a sweet secret! A sleepy little surf town on the mid North coast.
Passengers love surfing the beaches in this area as the waters are a part of the Solitary Islands marine reserve. These fun little beach breaks are easy to learn on and are often shared with dolphins and the beach cabins have direct beach access across the little bridge.
Again we have had Contiki Cabins built on site to accommodate our groups. These are exclusively used by Contiki passengers. It is always a great vibe at this location and there are some great party nights!!
The Surf Camp is located right on the beach. The Beach cabins are basic bunk rooms but the food and company is fantastic. Depending on the time of year, the groups will have the option of having a beginner surf lesson in the afternoon of arrival or the morning of departure.
The intro surf lesson is with the professional surf instructors that live on site. During the lesson almost everyone will stand on the board…even if its just for a second. If you have experienced surfers – that’s fine too. The instructors will modify the lesson for them!
If you don’t want to do a surf lesson, you can check out the beach, play table tennis or chill around the common room chatting with other travelers. The bar always offers a fun night for all!
You can buy Mojo surf clothing as a souvenirs from the shop. These are really popular at the moment – cool hoodies. They also take photos of the group during the lesson in case people want a souvenir to take home with them.
